Theodore Roosevelt National Park is a prairie ecosystem, one of the most bio-diverse ecosystems on earth, with, of course, Prairie Dogs! Tons of them.
Coming out of sitting in a bird blind for three hours on a cold morning, hoping to get an eagle shot that never happened, I passed this heron in a marsh alongside the road. I think he was laughing at me.
Going a bit off trail at Wakeesa Audubon Sanctuary, working my way behind the marsh, I came across this bluebird who was very nice to pose for a shot on a dead stump.
